Hello, my name is Michelle Lashbrook, and I am the owner of Gateway Monuments. I had dreamt for a long time of owning a business – but not just any business:

I really wanted something that would have meaning to not only myself, but also to the clients that I would serve.

The opportunity came my way to buy Gateway Monuments and I felt that I would be able to do something good and meaningful with this type of business.

I have extensive experience with customer service including as a sales and front desk manager in a large hotel chain, and as well as
a retirement living consultant in an independent living retirement home.

I have also had many experiences of dealing with the loss of a loved one and understand what an emotional roller-coaster grief can be and the importance of closure and dealing with death in a healthy way.

I have taken care of several people in palliative care, including my own mother, and understand the physical and emotional stresses that caregivers go through, and then being overwhelmed with dealing with everything afterwards.

Gateway Monuments has connected with and partnered with suppliers that I have full confidence in to provide the best quality products and services for our clients. Our goal is to be the #1 Monument company that will serve our beautiful Ontario area.

Gateway was a family owned business, with the previous owners having taken the business from their original home in Sault Ste. Marie to Corbeil, and finally to Callander where they were located for many years.

They served a large Northern Ontario area, and we are looking forward to serving the same areas and beyond. The vision for Gateway is not only to serve people in their needs for monuments and memorials, but also for pet monuments and memorials, custom pieces, landscaping pieces including address and family name
markers on stone, and as well as businesses for granite business signs.

We are also offering on-site lettering & headstone cleaning, shape carving and portrait / landscape etchings.
